Watch Out For Adeleke, Accord Party’s Thugs Planned Invasion of Local Govt Councils – Osun APC Alerts Police, Public

Sequel to the threat and support promised by the State Governor Ademola Adeleke to the illegally elected local government council chairmen and councillors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) extraction whom the Supreme Court in its judgement had described as unknown to the law to invade all the local government council areas in Osun State, beginning from tomorrow Friday 19th June, 2026, the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has alerted the State Commissioner of Police, all the other statutory security services and the public to be on a red alert to prevent the plunging of the state into avoidable crisis.

It would be recalled that the state Governor Adeleke in a statewide interview on the electronic media immediately after the judgement on Monday directed the sit-at-home local government council chairmen to invade the council areas the following day.

Similar illegal directive of the invasion of the local government council areas was re-echoed by the Osun State chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Comrade Christopher Arapasopo, who has turned himself into the re-election campaign manager of Governor Adeleke in the forthcoming governorship election.

It is on record that our local government council chairmen have filed a notice of appeal at the appellate court following the controversial judgement of the Federal High Court sitting in Osogbo, last week.

The acceptable constitutional standard is to allow the case to run its full cycle in order for Governor Adeleke who, had since decamped to the recently deregistered Accord Party not to fall foul of the law again which was the bane of the legal conundrum currently being experienced by the governor and his cohorts.

It is the law that once an appeal and an application for stay of execution of a judgment have been filed, no party is allowed to proceed with the execution of such a judgment.

Contrary to the above legal standpoint, immediately a letter written by their lawyer to the management of the United Bank for Africa(UBA) on the local government issue was made to go viral yesterday, both the high and low members of the PDP that has transformed into the now deregistered Accord Party have started threatening fire and brimstone to storm the local government council areas across the state.

The state police command should not hesitate to hold Governor Adeleke and Arapasopo responsible for any break down of law and order as a result of their support and directive to the illegal sit-at-home local government council chairmen to invade the local government councils across the state.

It is necessary to sound this note of warning because this was how one of our Court of Appeal reinstated chairmen, Honourable Remi Abass, the Chairman of Irewole Local Government Council with its headquarters in Ikire, was gruesomely murdered by the PDP thugs who are currently on trial in a court in Abuja sometime last year.

It would also be recalled that Governor Adeleke had sponsored a one-year shunning of work by the local government workers in the state against his own government in order to frustrate the current council executives.

It is also fresh in the memory of the discerning members of the public how Governor Adeleke aided, on two occasions, the needless judicial workers’ strikes to get at the State Chief Judge without any luck.

It is based on the foregoing that we are enjoining the state police command and other sister statutory security services to be at alert with a view to arresting any disgruntled elements whose mission is to disturb the public peace of the state under the guise of playing dirty politics capable of plunging the state into avoidable crisis.
