Stop Wasting Your Time In Ondo – GMT Warns Aregbesola
A group under the aegis of the Grassroots Movement for Tinubu, Ondo State chapter, has warned former governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola, to stop thinking he can sway the minds of people of the Sunshine State against President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The group said on Tuesday in a statement by its Director of Media, Oyewamide Ojo, that the people of the state were not ingrates like Aregbesola.
The erstwhile Osun State governor, who is now the National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), was in Ondo last week.
Aregbesola said he visited the state to begin the southwest mobilisation strategy meetings, starting with a visit to stakeholders and grassroots mobilisers.
GMT noted that the people of Ondo State had benefited greatly from the government of President Tinubu and they would always support his administration.
The group said: “We are not ungrateful people in Ondo State. How does anyone think we can abandon President Tinubu for another person? If anybody, like Aregbesola and his cohorts, is thinking about that, that person is swimming in self-deceit.
“The people of the state have greatly benefited from the Federal Government of President Tinubu in the last two years. He has approved FUTA teaching hospital. We had been on it for a very long time.
“The dualization of Akure/Ado-Ekiti road is ongoing. Ditto the dualization of Akure/Ondo/Ore road. The Tinubu government has also approved the dualization of Ilesa/Akure/Owo/Benin road.
“Our children are among those who have benefited from the Student loans scheme of the Federal Government. Our people are partaking in other initiatives of the government which were introduced to make life easy for the people of the country.
“The people of our state believe in the vision of President Tinubu for the country. They have confidence in his capacity to deliver. They also have faith that the path he has chosen for the country will lead us to a prosperous and glorious Nigeria.
“Aregbesola has joined the league of quislings in the Southwest. We don’t even care. He has the right to make his choice. We know history is recording his ungratefulness and treachery. Those before him who are members of the league are occupying an unenviable place in history.”
