The attention of the Osun State All Progressives Congress (APC) has been drawn to the gross exhibition of a crass ignorance displayed by the leadership of a supposed ruling deregistered Accord Party in the state, accusing the spokesman of the opposition APC, Mogaji Kola Olabisi and the party, of generating a press statement for the state police command on the lingering crisis bedevilling the administration of the local government in the state.
The frivolous, baseless and unfounded allegation contained in a statement issued by one Pastor Victor Akande who answers the chairman of the relatively unknown, verifiably unpopular and recently deregistered ruling Accord Party in Osun State was an attestation to the fact that the scrapped political party is still being haunted by its current diminishing status in the eyes of the law.
If not mischief or abject ignorance, how on earth could a supposed ruling party ludicrously made an unsubstantiated allegation that our party was generating a press statement for the state police command when the command is not an extension of our party and heads would not have rolled by now?
Well, it is too late for us to take up the responsibility of educating the so-called leadership of the once-upon-a- time political party that has been washing the dirty linen of their ignorance in the public by raising frivolous and inconsequential allegations against our party.
It is now glaring why the handlers of the deregistered Accord Party have been getting everything wrong ranging from administrative missteps to constant policy somersaults since the inauguration of the outgoing Governor Adeleke’s government over three years ago.
Unfolding events have shown that any time there’s a resemblance of perfection in the administration of Governor Adeleke, it was by a sheer mistake achieved by a mere trial and error as it is pretty impossible for a government to be better than the quality of its political functionaries.
If the head is rotten, the plight of the torso can better be imagined than experienced which is what is verifiably playing out in Osun State under the fortuitous Governor Adeleke who, in some climes, does not possess the required qualities to even contest the position of a local government chairman.
One wonders what Pastor Victor Akande teaches his congregants if he could descend this low to accuse the APC of generating a press statement for the state police command. Who does that!
Instead of the so-called state chairman of the deregistered Accord Party to condemn the recent killings of four members of our party in Ilesa by his party’s goons within three days last week, he kept on dabbling into a strange and exclusive duties of the state police command, thereby turning himself to a meddlesome interloper.
Was Pastor Victor Akande in the moon for him not to know that Governor Adeleke’s Chief of Staff, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye, was, during the week, accused of aiding and abetting in the attack of one of our members, the chairman of the motorcycle commercial riders at Owode-Ede in the Ede-North Local Government Council Area of the state?
Is blood not running in the veins of the state deregistered Accord Party’s chairman to know the propriety of condemning the physical assault on the member of our party who sustained lacerations all over his body from the Accord Party’s thugs’ attack and the need for him to canvass the police investigation of the man inhumanity against man in the name of the playing of a dirty politics?
The leadership of the embattled Accord Party in Osun State should remove the log in its eyes before thinking of a speck in another person’s eyes as it is obvious that the challenged political party is not in a better position to teach the state police command their work.
