PRESS RELEASE/18TH DECEMBER, 2025.

*Famodun Royal Dynasty Of Igbajo Appreciates All Over Oba’s Burial*

On behalf of the Famodun Royal Dynasty of Igbajo in the Boluwaduro Local Government Council Area of Osun State, we are using this medium to express our profound gratitude to the members of our family, the Christians Association of Nigeria(CAN), Igbajo chapter, the Muslim community in Igbajo, kingmakers, princes, princesses, friends, political associates and well-wishers for their support in prayers, in kind and in cash during the sickness, death and befitting burial of our father, His Royal Majesty, Oba Philip Adegboyega Famodun III, the 30th Owa of Igbajoland, who joined his ancestors on the 28th November, 2025.

We quite appreciated the positive inputs of all those who put in their maximum efforts to strive that the incident that led to the death of the patriarch of our family was averted but without luck as it has been written that all the mortals would taste death in their life journey while the time, when and how are all beyond the comprehension of any human being.

Though it would be pretty difficult to list the identities of our benefactors during our travails over the plight of our late patriarch, we cannot but acknowledge the superlative assistance received in this regard from His Excellency, Chief Bisi Akande; Prof Olu Aina; Prof Isaac Adewole; His Excellency, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola, former governor of Osun State now Minister of Marine and Blue Economy; Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, the Osun State APC governorship candidate; Hon Taiwo Oluga, Engr. Remi Omowaiye and Ambassador Issah Adedotun Niniola who freely gave their God-given support to battle for the life of our dear patriarch in the Abuja hospital where he eventually breathed his last on the 28th November, 2025.

We are also acknowledging the attendance of the following persons and corporate bodies who attended the wake keep service for the late Owa of Igbajoland, Oba Philip Adegboyega Famodun: The Owa-In-Council; Omo Owa Oke-Ode; Omo Owa Iloro; Gbobaniyi Social Club of Igbajo; Jagunmolu Social Club of Igbajo; Bobakeye Social Club of Igbajo; Igbajo Advisory Committee; Igbajo a Unity Forum and all other sons and daughters of Igbajo.

The other dignitaries in attendance were: The APC State Executive Committee (SWC) led by the chairman of the party, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal; Hon Bayo Oyekanmi, the chairman, Boluwaduro Local Government Council Area and his counterpart in Boluwaduro Local Council Development Area, Engr. Samson Awodiji others.

We shall also continue to show our appreciation for the movers and shakers in our community and beyond whom God used to ensure that the 30th Owa of Igbajoland, Oba Philip Adegboyega Famodun, was given befitting burial rites according to the culture and tradition of our community.

Our showing of appreciation would also not be completed without the acknowledgement of the numerous political associates, mentees, neighbours and well-wishers who have been thronging our Famson Street family house in Osogbo to pay condolence visits almost on daily basis to date.

We won’t forget the concern of the friends and family members who have been calling constantly through telephones from their various abodes outside the country and within with a view to mitigating the effect of the sudden loss of our patriarch in words and prayers.

We have solace in the fact that our patriarch, HRM Oba Philip Adegboyega Famodun III, was fulfilled as he incontrovertibly joined his ancestors as the 30th Owa of Igbajoland.

Further activities for the final befitting social reception for the late Owa of Igbajoland, Oba Philip Adegboyega Famodun III, shall be made available in due course.

Our profound regards to all.
