Iwo Federal Constituency
Hon. Ismail Sefiu Oluwasinaayomi Akogun honoured the invitation of the Iwo Board of Trustees (IBOT) to the grand finale of the 2025 Iwo Day Football Competition, where he served as the Chairman of the Day.
The event was held in the august presence of His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Abdul-Rasheed Adewale Akanbi, Telu I, the Oluwo of Iwo. Hon. Akogun was ably represented by the entire Team Akogun, led by Hon. Abidoye Abideen.
In his message to the people of Iwo, Hon. Akogun passionately called for unity, peace, and collective commitment to the progress and development of Iwo land. He reaffirmed his unwavering dedication to youth development and empowerment, highlighting several initiatives already undertaken under his leadership, including skills acquisition programmes, educational support for students, youth empowerment schemes, and continuous support for sports development within Iwo and its environs.
As a demonstration of his commitment to community development, Hon. Akogun generously donated the sum of ₦500,000 in support of the ongoing construction and upgrade works at the Oluwo Stadium, describing sports as a vital tool for youth engagement, talent discovery, and social cohesion.
The gesture was warmly received by the organizers and stakeholders, who commended Hon. Akogun for his consistent support for grassroots development and the advancement of Iwo land.
