As preparations intensify for next year’s gubernatorial election in Osun State and the crucial APC primary that will determine the party’s flagbearer, an Osun APC stakeholder and party figure, Alhaji Ganiyu Mayowa Egbetunde, has issued a powerful appeal for unified support behind Engr. Iyiola Omisore. He described the coming election as a defining moment that will determine whether Osun progresses or sinks deeper into administrative decline.

Speaking passionately, Egbetunde warned that Osun can no longer afford political experimentation or leadership without technical depth. He stated that Engr. Omisore remains the only aspirant with the engineering competence, structural insight, and project-management experience required to rebuild the state. According to him, Omisore’s engineering background provides a practical, solution-driven approach that Osun urgently needs at this critical juncture.

He emphasized that Otunba Omisore’s track record in infrastructural planning, conflict resolution, and governance places him miles ahead of other contenders. Egbetunde argued that Osun’s development challenges ranging from decaying infrastructure to weak administrative frameworks require a governor who understands systems, processes, and long-term planning, not one who will learn on the job.

The APC stalwart urged party members to rise above internal divisions and pettiness as the primary election approaches. He stressed that unity is non-negotiable, warning that fragmentation within the party could jeopardize electoral success. “This is not the time for ego politics,” he said. “The APC must choose the most competent and marketable hand.”

In his final remarks, Alhaji Egbetunde called on the people of Osun especially the youths, artisans, and grassroots voters to support a candidate who represents competence, capacity, and credibility. He maintained that Engr. Iyiola Omisore embodies the type of steady, technically grounded leadership capable of rescuing Osun from its present drift and ushering in an new era of stability and meaningful development.
