Desperate Lies Will Not Stop AMBO’s Victory in Osun – Ganiyu Egbetunde Fires Back

June 1, 2026
Ile-Ife, Osun State

My attention has been drawn to a laughable and mischievous publication alleging that certain leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held secret meetings at the Ede country home of the Adeleke family prior to their purported resignation from the party.

Ordinarily, such a baseless and fabricated story does not deserve a response. However, in order to prevent unsuspecting members of the public from being misled by agents of confusion and political mischief, it has become necessary to set the record straight.

The publication is completely devoid of facts, lacking in substance, and clearly the handiwork of desperate political propagandists whose sole objective is to create confusion within the progressive family. The authors of this malicious narrative failed to provide a single piece of credible evidence to support their allegations. Instead, they resorted to name-dropping and the spread of unfounded rumours in a futile attempt to gain public attention.

I categorically state that the claim that I, Alhaji Ganiyu Mayowa Egbetunde, and several other respected APC leaders held meetings at the Adeleke family residence is false, misleading, and a deliberate act of political mischief. Such fabrications can only come from individuals determined to distract our party from its collective mission of reclaiming and sustaining progressive governance in Osun State.

For the avoidance of doubt, I have never in my life departed from the progressive path, and by the grace of Almighty God, I never will. My political conviction, loyalty, and commitment to the progressive family remain unwavering. Those who have followed my political journey can attest to my consistency, steadfastness, and dedication to the ideals of progressive governance.

At this crucial moment in the political history of our state, my focus, alongside that of many notable leaders and loyal members of our great party, is to work tirelessly toward delivering a resounding victory for Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) and his running mate, Engr. Benjamin Kayode Adereti, in the August 15 Governorship Election. We remain united, committed, and determined to ensure that the people of Osun State embrace the progressive vision embodied in the AMBO project.

No amount of falsehood, propaganda, or sponsored misinformation can distract us from this noble assignment. The APC remains strong, united, and focused on providing credible leadership and a prosperous future for the people of Osun State.

I therefore urge members of the public and party faithful to disregard this concocted story in its entirety. Politics should be about ideas, performance, and service to the people—not cheap blackmail, misinformation, and character assassination.

I remain steadfast in my commitment to the progressive ideals that continue to drive the growth, development, and prosperity of our dear Osun State.
