A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State and the leading aspirant for Osun East Senatorial District in the 2027 general election, Prince Thomas Olaleye Ogungbangbe PhD, host leaders, stakeholders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oriade Local Government as they converged for their general meeting held at the Iloko Ijesa Town Hall, Iloko Ijesa. The well-attended meeting brought together party leaders across various strata to deliberate on party unity, grassroots mobilisation and preparations ahead of future elections in the state.
Prince Thomas Olaleye Ogungbangbe PhD noted that the meeting reflected the growing strength and internal harmony of the APC in Oriade Local Government. He described the gathering as timely and strategic, adding that it further demonstrated the party’s readiness to work collectively for victory in the forthcoming elections, particularly the August 8, 2026 Osun State governorship poll.
Among the leaders present at the meeting were the Executive Chairman of Oriade Local Government, Hon. Bunmi Ezekiel Obeisun; High Chief Ajewole Golo; Hon. Deji Ajimati; High Chief Emiola Ogunsanya; Alhaja Kudirat Fakorode; Prince Thomas Olaleye Ogungbangbe PhD; Hon. Tomi Israel Aloba; Hon. Babatunde Desmond Ojo; Hon. Chief Rufus Oluwatayo; Comrade Jossy; Hon. Aboge; Mr. Ogundele; Mr. Adegboro; Hon. Banjo Fashogbon; and Hon. Yinka Osunmakinde, among others. The presence of these leaders underscored the importance attached to the meeting by the party in the local government.
Speaking on the state of the party in Oriade Local Government, High Chief Ajewole Golo assured members that the All Progressives Congress remains solid and well-positioned to emerge victorious in the August 8, 2026 governorship election in Osun State. He expressed appreciation to Prince Thomas Olaleye Ogungbangbe PhD for his financial support toward the success of the meeting, including the provision of refreshments for members in attendance. High Chief Golo also commended Hon. Seun Odofin, Hon. Olufemi Akosile, Hon. Desmond Ojumu and other party leaders for their various financial contributions. High Chief Nathaniel Agunbiade was later invited to formally introduce all leaders present to the house.
The Executive Chairman of Oriade South Local Council Development Area, Hon. Deji Ajimati, thanked God for the peaceful and successful conduct of the meeting and appreciated all members for their commitment to the party. He charged members to intensify grassroots engagement by mobilising eligible citizens to participate in the ongoing voters’ card registration exercise. Hon. Ajimati also praised the calm and united atmosphere within the party in Oriade Local Government and Osun State at large, urging members to sustain the unity as they work towards future electoral successes.
Addressing the gathering, the Osun State APC Women Leader, Alhaja Kudirat Fakorode, greeted all leaders and members present and called on both former and current party executives at the local government and ward levels to redouble their efforts at the grassroots. She encouraged women across the local government to be more involved in party activities and appealed for massive participation, especially by women, at the next APC women’s meeting in Oriade Local Government.
In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Oriade Local Government, Hon. Bunmi Ezekiel Obeisun, reminded members that the All Progressives Congress remains a party firmly rooted at the grassroots. He assured those yet to register as party members to remain patient, noting that another party membership registration exercise would soon commence across the country. He concluded by calling on members to remain steadfast, united and committed to the ideas of the APC as the party continues to strengthen its base ahead of future elections.
