Prince Thomas Olaleye Ogungbangbe, PhD, Consults with Osun East Youth Leaders and Stakeholders
A frontline chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Senatorial aspirant for Osun East, Prince Thomas Olaleye Ogungbangbe, PhD, on Sunday, hosted a wide delegation of youth leaders, stakeholders, and grassroots mobilization groups at his residence in Ile-Ife.
The delegation—led by Mr. Olanreti Ogunsina (Olope)—comprised youth leaders from across the senatorial district, local mobilization groups, Osun Youth platforms, and the Forum of Ijesa Land Councillors. The consultation session centered on pressing issues affecting the youth and the region’s collective political future.
In his address, Prince Ogungbangbe briefed the gathering on his earlier engagements with state leaders, stressing his vision for Osun East anchored on development-driven partnerships, scholarships for students, and empowerment opportunities for young people. He urged the youth leaders to sustain grassroots mobilization ahead of the forthcoming governorship election, emphasizing that the success of the party at all levels would pave the way for a stronger senatorial mandate.
Youth representatives including Mr. Lukman Afolabi (Atakumosa East), Mr. Samson Johnson (Ife East Area Office), Mr. Orimogunje Segun, Mr. Awe Wale (Oriade), and Alhaji Musiliu Olaniyan (Atakumosa West) openly pledged their support, while charging the aspirant to remain steadfast and fulfill his promises when elected.
The consultation also featured robust interactions with stakeholders and party leaders. Prince Ogungbangbe reiterated that his senatorial ambition is driven not by personal interest but by the need to provide transparent, accountable, and impactful representation. He vowed to prioritize community development, youth and women empowerment, infrastructure renewal, and grassroots inclusion in governance.
Party leaders, including Mr. Aboge (Oriade APC Chairman) and Hon. Olaleye Festus (Leader, Atakumosa West), praised Prince Ogungbangbe’s long-standing contributions to the APC. They recalled his intervention in clearing outstanding council tax obligations during a critical period, describing him as a dependable and trustworthy leader deserving of the senatorial ticket.
On behalf of the various groups, representatives also tabled requests on voter registration drives, expanded women participation, and stronger youth engagement in politics. Responding, Prince Ogungbangbe assured them of visible solutions within his first two years in office, pledging to run an open-door, inclusive leadership style.
As a mark of his immediate commitment, he announced a ₦5 million support fund for the attendees, while reaffirming his unwavering dedication to building a senatorial district anchored on growth, equity, and empowerment.
The meeting ended with resounding endorsements from youth leaders and stakeholders, who unanimously expressed confidence in his candidacy and readiness to work for his victory.
