Hijrah 1447 AH: Prince Ogungbangbe Urges Muslims to Stand for Truth and Unity in Tough Times

Prince Thomas Olaleye Ogungbangbe PhD, a prominent grassroots mobilizer and political pathfinder of Osun State, has extended warm greetings to the Muslim faithful in Osun State and across Nigeria on the commencement of the new Islamic year, Hijrah 1447.

In a statement released by his media team, the APC stalwart emphasized the importance of the Hijrah not just as a date on the calendar, but as a call to action for truth, courage, and unity.

Prince Ogungbangbe described the Hijrah as a symbol of sacrifice, faith, and spiritual rebirth, drawing attention to its timeless lessons on patience, perseverance, and unwavering trust in divine purpose.

“As we mark the beginning of Hijrah 1447, I join millions of Muslims worldwide in celebrating a sacred journey that reminds us of the power of hope, unity, and steadfastness,” he said.

He urged Muslims to use this sacred period to reflect on the values of peace, compassion, and moral discipline as taught by the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), especially at a time when the nation needs healing and purposeful leadership.

“Let this new year be a turning point in our personal and communal lives. Let us recommit ourselves to truth, justice, and service to humanity. The challenges of our society demand from all of us regardless of religion the courage to do right and uphold the common good,” he added.

Prince Ogungbangbe prayed for a peaceful, prosperous, and spiritually rewarding new year for all believers, while calling on political actors and community leaders to ensure that justice and equity remain the cornerstone of governance.

He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to building bridges across faiths, promoting inclusive development, and advancing the values that bind the people of Osun State together.

Happy Islamic New Year – Hijrah 1447!
