The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Alhaji Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, on his election as the Chairperson of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Council, the highest global decision-making body for customs administration.
The state chairman of the party, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in a statement issued by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, today, described Adeniyi’s election as a remarkable achievement for Nigeria and a clear recognition of the country’s growing relevance in international leadership.
Lawal praised the Customs boss as a highly experienced professional whose election reflected the quality of leadership talent Nigeria has to offer the world.
In the state chairman’s words: “On behalf of the Osun APC, we sincerely congratulate the Comptroller-General of Customs, Alhaji Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR. His election is not just a personal achievement, but a great honour for Nigeria.
“It shows that Nigerians are capable of leading on the global stage. This is a joyful moment for every patriotic Nigerian,” the APC chairman said.
Lawal also commended Adeniyi’s hard work, reforms and dedication to improving the Nigeria Customs Service, describing him as a man of integrity, vision and action.
He observed that his time as the CG of the Nigeria Customs Service has brought openness, modernization and strong reforms.
“We believe he will bring the same energy and professionalism to his new global role at the WCO”, he stated.
The Osun State APC chairman hinted further that Adeniyi’s international recognition is a positive reflection of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to appointing competent and visionary leaders.
He encouraged young Nigerians, especially those in public service, to see the CG Adeniyi’s achievement as a proof that hard work, patriotism and excellence are still highly valued and rewarded.
“We pray that God grants him wisdom, strength and direction in this new global assignment.
“We are confident that he will lead with honour and contribute to improving the Customs administration across the world,” Lawal added.
