Osun APC Mourns Demise Of Obajio, Consoles Ooni, Ijio, Oramuyiwa Ruling House

  • The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has mourned the death of a revered traditional ruler and custodian of culture, His Royal Majesty, Oba Yaya Akande Elugbaju Oramuyiwa III, the Obajio of Ife, who joined his ancestors at the age of 86.

According to the Osun State chairman of the APC in a statement issued by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, today, the news of the sudden transition of the royal father was shocking and terrifying.

Lawal described the passing of the monarch as a monumental loss not only to the ancient city of Ile-Ife but to Osun State at large, considering the high regard in which the traditional ruler was held.

He extolled the late monarch’s virtues of wisdom, dignity and selfless service to his people, noting that Oba Oramuyiwa III was a symbol of unity and a pillar of traditional leadership throughout his reign.

According to the state APC chairman, the revered Obajio upheld the rich cultural values and heritage of the Yoruba people with great pride and commitment, making him a father figure to many within and beyond Ile-Ife.

“The passing of Oba Yaya Akande Elugbaju Oramuyiwa III is a painful reminder of the ephemerality of life.

“We however, take solace in the fact that he lived a fulfilled life and left behind a legacy of peace, progress and principled leadership,” the statement read.

The Osun APC also extended its heartfelt condolences to the royal family, the Ooni of Ife, the Ijio community, the Oramuyiwa Ruling House and the entire traditional institution in Osun State.

May Almighty Allah grant the departed monarch eternal rest and grant everyone affected the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
