The All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded a significant political gain on Saturday, 1st August 2026, as Hon. Francis Oluwadamilare Eniade successfully facilitated the defection of over 500 members of the Accord Party into the APC at Oyemojo Hall, Inisa, Osun State.
The historic event, which attracted party leaders, stakeholders, supporters, and residents, underscored Hon. Eniade’s growing political influence and his commitment to strengthening the APC ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
Welcoming the defectors into the progressive family, the APC party Chairman in Odo-Otin, Hon. Jimoh Asa assured them of equal opportunities, unity, and full integration within the party. He urged the new members to remain committed to the ideals of the APC and work tirelessly for the victory of the party’s governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), and his running mate, Aare Engr. Benjamin Kayode Adereti.
Speaking on behalf of the defectors, representatives of the former Accord Party members said their decision to join the APC was driven by their confidence in Hon. Eniade’s leadership, the party’s progressive vision, and the need to support a government that will deliver sustainable development and good governance for Osun State.
Party leaders present at the event commended Hon. Eniade for his tireless grassroots mobilization and described the mass defection as a clear indication that the APC continues to gain momentum across Osun State.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment by members to intensify grassroots campaigns and mobilize voters for a resounding APC victory in the forthcoming governorship election.
