The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship hopeful in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has reaffirmed his commitment to transforming the state through people-oriented policies focused on poverty alleviation, massive job creation, improved workers’ welfare and sustainable economic development.
Oyebamiji also pledged to prioritise the completion and full delivery of the Ido-Osun International Airport project, describing it as a strategic investment capable of boosting the economy of Osun State and attracting both local and foreign investors.
According to AMBO, his administration will be anchored on responsive, accountable and transparent governance that places the welfare of the people above every other consideration while ensuring prudent financial management for the overall benefit of residents across the state.
Speaking on his vision for Osun, the APC stalwart emphasised the need to empower youths and women through strong support systems that would encourage entrepreneurship, economic growth and self-reliance.
He noted that his years of experience in government, having served under two governors, have equipped him with the administrative capacity and leadership experience required to move Osun State forward.
“I have had the privilege of serving under two governors, and those experiences have exposed me to the strengths and shortcomings of governance. We will build on existing successes, address the gaps and deliver sustainable development that will benefit every citizen of Osun State,” he stated.
AMBO further cited the successful delivery of the Osun Mall project as a clear demonstration of his capacity to initiate and execute impactful projects capable of stimulating economic activities and creating opportunities for the people.
On the power sector, the governorship hopeful expressed concern over what he described as the failure of the current administration to fully maximise the constitutional authority granted to states to generate and distribute electricity.
“Osun State now has the authority to generate and distribute electricity, yet not much has been achieved in the sector. Our administration will take decisive and practical steps to improve power supply, support industrial growth and enhance the living conditions of our people,” he said.
He assured residents that, if elected, his administration would usher in a new era of inclusive governance, infrastructural development, economic prosperity and people-driven leadership across Osun State.
