Osun 2026: AMBO Meets APC Exco, Pushes Genuine Reconciliation and Party Cohesion Ahead of Governorship Election

As part of intensified stakeholder engagements ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has met with the State Executive Committee (SEC) of the party, reaffirming his commitment to genuine reconciliation, unity, and internal cohesion.

The meeting, held in continuation of the party’s post-primary consolidation efforts, comes as the APC positions itself to reclaim power from the incumbent governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, in the election scheduled for August 2026 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Addressing the executives, Oyebamiji expressed deep appreciation to the party leadership and critical stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him, assuring them of his unwavering loyalty to the APC. He described himself as a core party man who would consistently uphold the supremacy, unity, and collective interest of the party above all personal or sectional considerations.

The APC governorship flagbearer stressed that sincere and honest reconciliation remains non-negotiable for electoral victory, declaring that only an inclusive and indivisible party can successfully prosecute the forthcoming election. He called on all party organs and members to demonstrate the same level of seriousness, commitment, and sacrifice shown during the pre-primary process in driving the gubernatorial campaign.

Oyebamiji further emphasized that with the conclusion of the primaries, the campaign now belongs to the party as a whole, insisting that all forms of groupings, factions, or sectional alignments must give way to collective action. He appealed for the dissolution of such tendencies from the unit level through wards, local governments, and up to the state structure of the party.

Highlighting key pillars of his proposed administration, Oyebamiji outlined priority areas in his manifesto to include healthcare development, attraction of private sector investments, expansion of social services, economic empowerment through accessible loan schemes, transparency and accountability in governance, and comprehensive agricultural development.

In his goodwill message, the Osun State APC Chairman, Hon. Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, on behalf of the State Working Committee, congratulated Oyebamiji on his emergence as the party’s flagbearer, describing it as divinely ordained. He assured the candidate of the party leadership’s full backing and readiness to deploy effective, strategic, and result-driven campaign mechanisms capable of securing victory at the polls.

The host of the meeting expressed appreciation to members of the State Executive Committee for honouring the engagement and reiterated his commitment to sustained consultations with all stakeholders as the campaign gains momentum.
