A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and one of the 2026 governorship aspirants in Osun State, Omooba Dotun Babayemi, has urged the members of the Integrity Group of Nigeria, Osun State Chapter, to remain strategic and steadfast in their peaceful efforts to unify the party across the state.
Babayemi gave the charge on Thursday in Osogbo while hosting the members of the group on a courtesy visit.
He commended their unwavering commitment to peace-keeping within the APC, describing their activities as vital to restoring the strength and cohesion of the progressive family in the state.
He emphasized that reconciliation, grassroots engagement and unity of purpose remain the surest paths to rebuilding the party and ensuring victory in the future elections.
“Our strength lies in unity,” Babayemi said. “You must continue to reach out with love and sincerity. Politics is about people, and peace is the only way to reclaim our rightful place in Osun,” he stated.
In his response, the Osun State Chairman of the Integrity Group of Nigeria, Comrade Salam Mustapha Olamilekan (ASMOF), appreciated Omooba Babayemi for his fatherly counsel and reaffirmed the group’s unflinching loyalty to the leadership of the APC in Osun State under Sooko Tajudeen Olaniyi Lawal.
Comrade Salam noted that the group would continue its “peaceful evangelism” across all the 30 local governments and the Area Office of the state to promote unity and loyalty among the party members, while also advancing initiatives that will foster progressive governance.
He further disclosed that preparations are in top gear for the Southwest Integrity Summit 2025, scheduled to hold in Osogbo on November 17, where key stakeholders across the region will gather to deliberate on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic policies and strategies to strengthen unity and good governance within the progressive fold.
The meeting, attended by state and local coordinators of the Integrity Group, was described as a positive step towards harmonizing efforts and ensuring a more united and formidable APC in Osun State.
