The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused a parallel political association under the embattled African Democratic Congress (ADC), in the state, self-styled Omoluabi Progressives of needlessly bringing back the hands of the clock on the issue of the delayed payments of the federal allocations to the local government council areas in the state.
It would be pertinent for discerning minds in Osun State and beyond to ask the former state Governor Rauf Aregbesola political group if those driving its affairs have just woken up from their slumber for their stale query over the delayed payment of the federal allocations for the local government councils.
One would have thought that the handlers of the unregistered Omoluabi Progressives would have preoccupied themselves with the lingering cold war of attrition between the patron of the group and a renowned chieftain and leader of the ADC who hails from Iragbiji in the Boripe Local Government Council Area of the state over the choice of the party’s governorship candidate in the 2026 election.
Apart from the fact that the tirade of the so-called Omoluabi Progressives is belated, there couldn’t have been any need for it beyond mere attention-seeking as it is through such means that they could be considered heard and published by the press.
It is also not out of tune for rational minds to suspect and conclude that irresistible filthy lucre from the party which bidding they are carrying out on the local government councils’ allocations imbroglio that has been propelling their interest which lo and behold is outrightly belated.
It is necessary to point out to the meddlesome interloper just like the disgraced hired interest groups they made an allusion to in their hogwash that the proverbial snake has since crept out of its former abode which automatically makes it a non-subject of discussion by any rational minds or a group of people.
It would not be difficult to observe the displayed sentiment of the so-called Omoluabi Progressives on the belated issue at stake as its handlers deliberately chose to be blind to the 10th February, 2025 Court of Appeal judgement which expressly reinstated the APC local government council chairmen and councillors.
If we may ask, who conferred the status of the interpreter of either the law or court judgement on the busy-body members and leaders of the questionable Omoluabi Progressives?
Our advice for the Omoluabi Progressives which effort to lord itself over the control of the ADC in other states has met a brick wall is to preserve the dissipation of its energy on how its nationally embattled adopted party would have a solid identity and standing among the comity of other political parties in Nigeria.
It is visible to the blind, audible to the deaf and tangible to the morons that the Appeal Court judgement of the 10th of February, 2025 which allowed all the reliefs sought reinstated the APC council chairmen and councillors which made them the constitutionally elected council officers in the face of the law.
No fabricated or concocted side talks can take the due place of the said Court of Appeal judgement which was not challenged in the Supreme Court.
