The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has shared its heartfelt condolences with one of its esteemed leaders and the first Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, the Rt. Hon. Wale Afolabi, following the passing of his mother, Mrs. Felicia Afolabi, who died in Ikirun, Ifelodun Local Government Council Area of the state, on Saturday at 94.
In a message of sympathy released to the public by the party’s Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, on behalf of the State Chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, today, the party described Mama Felicia Afolabi as a dedicated mother who exemplified a life filled with service, devotion and love for others.
The statement highlighted that Mama was a steadfast source of support for her family and community, a compassionate disciplinarian and a mother whose wisdom and guidance played a significant role in the achievements of her children, including the Rt. Hon. Wale Afolabi, who has made his mark in the political and legislative landscape of Osun State.
Lawal remarked that while her passing at the age of 94 is a profound loss for the Afolabi family, it should also be viewed as a celebration of a life well-lived in the service of God and humanity.
The state APC chairman emphasized that few are fortunate enough to reach such an admirable age while leaving behind a legacy of integrity and kindness.
Lawal prayed for the Almighty God to provide the Afolabi family with the strength, courage, and resilience to cope with this irreplaceable loss of their matriarch.
He also prayed that the void left by Mama’s departure be filled with God’s enduring grace and peace.
In expressing deep sympathy to the Rt. Hon. Wale Afolabi, the entire Afolabi family and their friends, the party prayed for the peaceful repose of Mama Felicia Afolabi’s soul, asking the Almighty God to grant her eternal rest in paradise.
