Osun State Update

According to INEC’s breakdown by state, Osun recorded an impressive 518,635 registrations, placing it among the top-performing states in terms of civic participation. The Commission commended citizens and civic groups in Osun for their proactive mobilisation efforts.

Completed Registration

Beginning this week, the Commission will present combined figures for both completed online pre-registration and physical (in-person) registration in a single graphic.

The cumulative figure since the commencement of physical registration on 25th August 2025 stands at 288,614 as of Thursday, 4th September 2025. Out of this, 132,634 (45.96%) are male and 155,980 (54.04%) are female. By age and occupation, 215,414 (74.64%) are between 18 and 34 years, while 114,150 (39.55%) are students.

Detailed Breakdown

A full distribution of both online and completed registrations by state, gender, age, occupation, and disability has been uploaded to INEC’s website and other official platforms for public access.

Appreciation and Appeal

The Commission once again appreciates the positive response of citizens and organisations that have mobilised civic participation for the exercise.

However, INEC strongly reiterates that voter registration is strictly open to citizens who are 18 years or older at the time of registration. It is illegal for anyone to encourage underage persons or those below 18 years to register in anticipation of attaining voting age before the 2027 general elections.
