The Executive Chairman of Ife East Local Government, Hon. Akinwole Safiriyu Akinwale Omilaj, has reaffirmed his commitment to grassroots development and the implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. In a firm declaration made on Monday, June 16, 2025, Hon. Akinwole emphasized that the progressivism of the All Progressives Congress (APC) would not be compromised under his watch, regardless of political distractions or attempted sabotage.

Speaking from his official office at Oke Ogbo in Ile-Ife during his resumption, the chairman described community development as the backbone of national growth, stressing that meaningful development must begin at the local level. “We are committed to local community development, and we will execute people-oriented projects that reflect the yearnings of our people,” he said.

The statement, released by the Council’s Directorate of Media and Publicity, outlined that Hon. Akinwole and his cabinet members have outlined strategic initiatives focused on infrastructure renewal, youth empowerment, primary healthcare strengthening, and agricultural revitalization across Ife East Local Government. He maintained that leadership must translate into visible impact and measurable service delivery.

In a strong appeal to the Osun State Government, Hon. Akinwole called on Governor Ademola Adeleke to prioritize cooperation over conflict, stating that collaboration between state and local governments is essential for sustainable development. “We urge His Excellency Governor Ademola Adeleke to see beyond party lines and support developmental efforts that benefit the people of Osun State,” he said.

However, the chairman did not mince words in addressing what he described as “deliberate attempts to destabilize the peace and order of Ife East.” He warned those involved in stoking chaos and disorder to desist immediately or face the full wrath of the law. “Let it be known that the era of political thuggery and blackmail is over. We will uphold law and order and defend the sanctity of democratic governance at all levels,” he declared.

He also reaffirmed the council’s alignment with national priorities and declared his administration’s readiness to defend the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu with courage and clarity. “We are not here to play politics with the people’s future. We are here to serve. Our allegiance is to good governance, and we shall not retreat in the face of intimidation or provocation,” Hon. Akinwole stated boldly.

Concluding, Hon. Akinwole extended a hand of fellowship to traditional leaders, community-based organizations, and the private sector to partner with his administration. He noted that Ife East Local Government is poised for a new phase of transformation, driven by vision, discipline, and inclusive governance. “This is not just a promise—it is a duty we will fulfill,” he concluded.
