Aare (Engr.) Benjamin Kayode Adereti has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for sustaining the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, describing it as a vital step toward deepening Nigeria’s democracy and strengthening citizen participation. In an official release made available to the press, he urged the good people of Ife Federal Constituency both indigenes and residents to take full advantage of this opportunity by registering and securing their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs). According to him, “The cards will present the holders the unique opportunity to vote their preferred candidates and political parties at any electoral period.”
He further noted that INEC commenced the online registration on Monday, August 18, 2025, via its official website (https://www.cvr.inecnigeria.org), while physical registration began on Monday, August 25, 2025, across INEC offices and centres in the Local Government Areas of Ife Federal Constituency and Osun State. Commending the efficiency of the electoral body’s staff so far, Adereti strongly encouraged youths who just turned 18, individuals who lost their cards, those relocating to different polling units, as well as those with damaged cards or requiring corrections of personal details, to take part in this civic exercise. He emphasized that participation in the process is not just a duty but a constitutional right, stating, “Your participation will go a long way to determine our democratic future. It is one of your fundamental rights of expression within the ambits of the law, as the card is your voice.”
Demonstrating his commitment to inclusive participation, Adereti disclosed that he has sponsored awareness campaigns across print and electronic media to spread this crucial information, especially to rural communities and underserved areas within Ife Federal Constituency. In addition, he has made logistics available to ease transportation for applicants, particularly those residing in hard-to-reach locations, ensuring no eligible citizen is left behind in the democratic process. He reaffirmed that active voter registration is the foundation of credible elections, and urged every citizen and resident of the constituency to rise to this civic call in shaping the future of their community and the nation.
