The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed the appointment of Hon. (Barr.) Ayoola Peter Olajolo as the new National Administrative Secretary of the party at its national secretariat in Abuja.
Olajolo, a distinguished lawyer and politician from Ile-Ife, Osun State, succeeds the late Dr. Kunle Adeniji, also an illustrious son of Ife, who until his passing held the same strategic office.
Political observers have described the decision of the APC leadership as a bold step to retain the position within Ile-Ife, a move that underscores the confidence of the party in the pedigree and capacity of leaders from the historic city. The development has been greeted with joy and commendations across Osun State, particularly within the Ife political bloc, which has consistently contributed notable figures to the party’s national structure.
Barr. Olajolo’s emergence is widely viewed as a recognition of his loyalty, long-standing commitment to the progressive ideals of the APC, and his proven record as a disciplined administrator. Party stakeholders believe his experience in law, governance, and party affairs will further strengthen the administrative backbone of the APC at the national level.
Speaking on the appointment, Osun APC stalwart Prince Thomas Olaleye Ogungbangbe, PhD, lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the party leadership for what he described as “a well-deserved recognition.” He said Olajolo’s appointment is not only an honour to Ile-Ife but also a reassurance to Osun APC members that loyalty and competence are rewarded in the party.
“The elevation of Barrister Olajolo is a continuation of Ile-Ife’s legacy of producing quality leadership for the APC at the national stage. His commitment, discipline, and service to the party are beyond question, and I am confident he will justify the trust reposed in him,” Ogungbangbe added.
As Olajolo assumes duty, expectations are high that he will deploy his experience, energy, and integrity to ensure the smooth coordination of administrative affairs at the party’s national secretariat, thereby contributing to the growth, unity, and stability of the APC across Nigeria
