ÌṢẸ̀ṢẸ DAY 2025: Aare Adereti Hails Ooni, Yoruba Traditional Rulers, Urges Renewed Commitment to Ancestral Heritage
Aare (Engr.) Benjamin Kayode Adereti, Ilufemiloye I, has extended warm felicitations to His Imperial Majesty, Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, alongside other Yoruba traditional rulers, custodians of culture, and all sons and daughters of Káàrò Ojìíre on the commemoration of this year’s Ìṣẹ̀ṣè Day.
In a goodwill message personally signed on Friday, August 22, 2025, Adereti described Ìṣẹ̀ṣè Day as more than just a cultural festival but a symbolic reminder of the unbroken connection between the Yoruba people and their ancestral roots.
“Ìṣẹ̀ṣè Day is a reminder of our traditions and the enduring values passed down by our forefathers. It is a day of reflection on the wisdom, spirituality, and cultural wealth that form the foundation of our identity as a people,” he said.
While acknowledging the inevitable evolution of civilizations, the Ilufemiloye stressed that “the essence of Yorùbá culture remains unshaken.”
He urged Yoruba sons and daughters at home and in the diaspora to recommit themselves to preserving the legacies of their ancestors, while promoting peace, love, tolerance, and mutual respect across communities.
Adereti prayed that Olódùmarè would continue to guide and bless the Yoruba nation while sustaining the values of integrity, honour, and communal responsibility.
He concluded with the traditional prayer for continuity of the festival: “Àsèyí Sàmódún ooo, Àṣẹ.
