OSUN APC TO ADELEKE: Stop Beer Parlour Gists In The US, Return Home To Give Good Leadership
The Osun State chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has berated the state Governor Ademola Adeleke, for once again, bringing shame to the state with his disgraceful carriage in a beer parlour in a foreign land where he claimed he had gone to woo investors to the state.
It would be recalled that Governor Adeleke who sneaked out of the state in a questionable manner over a month ago, later disclosed to the people at the prompting of the opposition APC that he was in the United States of America for the preparation of the wedding of his nephew, Mr David Adeleke popularly known as Davido.
It is surprising that a week after the wedding, Governor Adeleke is still staying put in the United States where he told the people back at home that he was still searching for investors, a falsity elevated to manage the public backlash his junketing and lack of good judgement generated.
The concerned people are now discussing and querying in hushed tones in the state how it could be possible for Governor Adeleke to be meeting with investors in a clubhouse as the still photograph which has gone viral depicts with no investor in sight.
The more pathetic sight was when Governor Adeleke was sighted in another location in the United States, surrounded by some obscure men, beating a drum like a state chief executive who faces no urgency in providing good leadership for the people back home.
That Governor Adeleke said he was wooing investors in a beer parlour in the United States of America is the crudest of jokes to be told by Osun State Government whose governor has a pathetic record of squandering N3.1bn on frivolous foreign travels in the first half of 2025; N1.2 bn in 2024 and N753m in 2023.
After frittering away N6 billion on international travel in 30 months, with no single foreign direct investment to show for it, Governor Adélékè believed going to the United States of America to take photoshoots with acclaimed investors would assuage the Osun State public and make them rate his good-for-nothing government better.
It is disheartening that someone who could not provide security for the local government workers who have refused to come to work in the last six months because they claim their lives are not secured in the hands of the governor could be dancing around the world with relish in the United States.
Governance has never been this raped and lowered in the state as the bumbling governor has done.
Does Governor Adeleke have conscience at all? Only a leader with no conscience would dupe over 32,000 job applicants and yet rubbing the wickedness on their faces as the action of the state governor portends to be.
How would Governor Adeleke feel if he were to be parent of some of the applicants who paid the state government to participate in the state government’s teachers’ recruitment exercise but almost three years on, no job has been offered the poor citizens?
Is Governor Adélékè happy about the bad record he is setting in the state as the first state governor to sack 1,500 teachers without any replacement for them in three years?
We leave the governor to his conscience to judge.
