Osun APC Consoles Gafar Amere Over Wife’s Demise

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has consoled the former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Gafar Amere, over the death of his wife, Mrs. Foluke Akintayo Amere.

In a statement issued by the Director of Media and Information of the party, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, today, the state chairman of the APC, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, conveyed the party’s profound sympathies to Hon. Amere and his entire family during this difficult period of grief and mourning.

Lawal described the late Mrs. Amere as a virtuous woman, devoted wife and caring mother whose presence radiated love, peace and compassion.

The state APC chairman noted that her death at the age of 59 after a brief illness is a painful loss not only to the Amere family but also to the progressive family in Osun State and beyond.

In the words of Lawal: “We stand in solidarity with our leader, Hon. Gafar Amere, in this moment of the sudden loss of his wife.

“Mrs. Amere lived a purposeful life filled with dedication to her family, service to God and contributions to the society.

“Her passing is deeply felt by all of us in the APC family,” the statement read.

The APC chairman prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and enjoined the family to take solace in the impactful life she lived and the lasting legacy she has left behind.

According to Hon. Amere, the burial arrangement for the late Mrs. Foluke Akintayo Amere is scheduled for Monday, July 21, 2025 while a farewell church service is to be officiated by Pastor (Dr) Adejumo of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) at 4:00p.m. at their residence, 1, Amere Crescent, Ori-Eru, Iwo, Osun State, followed by interment at the CAN Cemetery, along Oyo Road, opposite the College of Education, Iwo.

She is survived by her husband, aged father and three children.
