A powerful wave of solidarity swept through the ranks of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State as prominent party stakeholders, including the State Chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal; NIWA Managing Director, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO); and respected political leader, Omo Oba Dotun Babayemi, joined voices to celebrate the birthday of the APC National Secretary, Senator (Dr.) Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru (SRJ).
In what many have described as a symbolic show of internal unity and strength, leaders across various spheres of influence within the APC extolled Senator Basiru’s outstanding leadership, loyalty to the progressive cause, and unrelenting commitment to national development.
The Osun APC Chairman, Sooko Tajudeen Lawal, in an official statement released through the party’s Media and Information Directorate, praised Senator Basiru as “a pillar of progressive politics, a brilliant strategist, and a loyal servant of the party whose political legacy is deeply rooted both at the grassroots and national levels.”
Lawal noted that since assuming office as National Secretary, Senator Basiru has significantly contributed to the cohesion, structure, and administrative revitalization of the APC. “The ‘Birthday Boy’s’ exceptional organizational skills and bridge-building efforts have created harmony and strategic direction within our great party,” he stated.
On his part, the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) and one of the leading aspirants in the 2026 Osun governorship race, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), described Senator Basiru as a loyal asset to the APC and a voice of reason in Nigeria’s political landscape.
“On behalf of my family, I wholeheartedly congratulate and rejoice with Senator Ajibola Basiru on this joyous occasion of his birthday. His impactful contributions to the APC and national discourse remain invaluable,” Oyebamiji said. He prayed for long life, divine wisdom, and continued success for the celebrant.
Similarly, another governorship aspirant and political figure, Omo Oba Dotun Babayemi, also extended warm wishes to the National Secretary. “Senator Basiru’s dedication to the growth of the APC and governance in Nigeria is deeply admired. He is a true symbol of service and principle,” Babayemi noted.
“As you mark another year, may Almighty Allah grant you greater wisdom and strength to continue your selfless service to our dear nation and the progressive family,” he concluded.
The flood of goodwill messages from the top echelons of the Osun APC has sent a clear message of harmony, maturity, and collective focus as the party positions itself ahead of critical political contests in 2026.
As Senator Ajibola Basiru celebrates another year of life and leadership, his influence continues to resonate deeply within the APC — as a bridge-builder, strategist, and a beacon of progressive values.
