Prince Thomas Olaleye Ogungbangbe PhD Warns Osun PDP Against Disrupting Peaceful Coexistenc

Prince Thomas Olaleye Ogungbangbe PhD, a respected statesman and pathfinder of the new Ife/Ijesa District, has issued a strong warning to the Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), cautioning them against actions that may plunge the state into avoidable chaos.

Reacting to intelligence and reports alleging that the PDP is orchestrating plans to unleash violence on duly elected Local Government Chairmen and Councilors, Prince Ogungbangbe described such schemes as reckless, provocative, and dangerous to the peace and stability of Osun State.

He reminded the PDP that the Appeal Court has already delivered a ruling on the issue of local government administration, and as such, all parties must abide by the rule of law and democratic principles.

“Democracy thrives on respect for institutions and decisions of the judiciary. It is not in the place of any political party to interpret the law to suit their whims. The judgment of the Appeal Court stands, and no amount of political intimidation or unlawful aggression should be used to subvert it,” Prince Ogungbangbe said.

He further warned that any attempt to take laws into their own hands or intimidate elected officials will be met with lawful resistance by lovers of democracy and justice in Osun State.

Prince Ogungbangbe called on security agencies to remain vigilant and proactive in ensuring that peace is not breached, while urging progressive-minded citizens to remain calm but firm in defending the democratic structures at the grassroots level.

“The peace of Osun is non-negotiable. No political ambition is worth throwing our communities into unrest. Let the PDP toe the path of civility and constitutionalism,” he concluded.
