Other *key takeaways from Ogungbangbe’s consultation* with the party leadership in Osun East.
He asked for rhetoric, “what’s the impact of a legislator who merely warms the bench and only takes salary, other emoluments? The question made meaning when he said, “the constituents’ needs and concerns are simply, not being addressed by the legislator,” adding, “it a disservice to constituents whose interests are not being effectively represented.”
Ogungbangbe, pioneer and current Chairman of Aviation Fuel Marketers Association (AFMAN) avowed greater accountability, to go groundbreaking by representational interactions, engaging with his Osun East APC stakeholders, other germane partners and general constituents, in his legislative thinking and processes.
And he promised transparency to do a metaphorical constituency project that’s “worth say, #5,000 with just #1,000 at hand and not indebted, implying that despite the significant difference between the value of the work done and the cash on hand, I’m not to be said to owe a dime after the completion of the project,” he stated, justifying the nature his Senate representation would take.
To be blunt, Ogungbangbe’s *screening and endorsement,* here. And the organic Osun State APC, balancing the candidature of Ogungbangbe with the party ticket to him, is appealing to a broad coalition of voters, or voter demographics, that will afford the party such a strategic advantage as winning the key Osun East Senatorial District by. He’s a trustworthy candidate for the Senate who has always demonstrated loyalty to the entire party, its principles and leadership.
He’s got to have the nod of the party leadership in the state to okay him with a party ticket to go to the Senate, on the strength of his willingness and readiness to serve and effectively represent the interests and needs of his Osun East even as he was applauded by the party across the state.
In particular, the support of the party Ife/Ijesa stakeholders, to Ogungbangbe came after a thorough screening of his political activities, statements, contributions and found him competent, with the party leadership satisfied with his increased visibility within the party and among the generality of the people and communities in Osun East.
The screening was also aided by a party leader, driving the *OGUNGBANGBE SENATE’27* Hon. Otunba Emiola Ogunsanya who spoke on Ogungbangbe’s long spirited efforts in the progressive party, over decades now and “his down times but with utter commitment to the party, its values and ideals, and he never for once defected, or dragged the party to court or mud.”
At every turn of consultation, Ogungbangbe was heard, opening up, “I humbly present my ambition to serve the good people of Osun East Senatorial District of the state, in the Senate capacity. And faithfully, I have come to you, hopefully to seek your good approval and warm support for this collective ambition for me to go and serve in the Senate of National Assembly (NASS).”
And as he unearthed his ambition to contest election into the Senate, he considered the party’s high performance in the upcoming gubernatorial important to providing insight into future electoral outcomes.
He propagated a strong electoral strategy for the victory of Osun APC in the next governorship election with the demographics of voters, the momentum and enthusiasm carried into the subsequent elections in the state. “The demographics shift in strong grassroots presence and energy indicates electoral strength of the party and its potential influence on election outcomes,” he always stated.
In Ijesa North Federal Constituency, the sitting, resilient Leader and Chairman of the party, Obokun/Oriade Ijesa North Federal Constituency, Otunba Jumoke Ogunkeyede JMK, who has been away overseas and soonest to arrive Nigeria, had in a goodwill said: “Ogungbangbe has the potential to effectively lead and represent Osun East Senatorial District. He has a pleasant and agreeable disposition, building strong relationships and a good reputation.”
And the legendary Ogunsanya, former Leader, Obokun /Oriade Federal Constituency and arch party stakeholder and chief host to consultation, had earlier described Ogungbangbe as “transformational, influential, revered, and visionary, having a clear and inspiring vision for the party and his Senate ambition.”
In Ijesa South Federal Constituency, the party Elder, former state Treasurer of the party, and the constituency principal and chief host to consultation, noted that the many investments of Ogungbangbe in the party had brought significant improvements to the party, a positive factor, impacting the dynamics of the party, and expectedly, in sequence, electoral success of the party.
He added, “Ogungbangbe’s independent resources, demonstrative loyalty to the party and dedication to communities and groups out there, have continually increased respect and support for the party, and influence on electoral prospects. “His lack of financial and emotional burden would enable him to focus on representation duties, make informed decisions and accountable to the Ife/Ijesa, Osun East Senatorial District.”
And in ‘The Source’, the Ife federal Constituency, the state APC Chairman Sooko Tajudeen Lawal insistently restated party unity and hard work as _sine qua non_ to the party progress and victory in the 2026 gubernatorial election in the state. “I call on all our aspirants including our dear Dr Ogungbangbe to put up more diligent efforts and let us present a strong chance of winning the governorship election. And mark it! Victory in the other elections would fall in place, in the bandwagon effect.” Lawal said.
At the three federal constituencies in the order of consultation, making the Osun East Senatorial District of the state, Ogungbangbe’s declaration of his Senate ambition was well attended by the party leaders and all teamed up in solidarity for the Senate race, saying he has highly strong values and reliability, with footprints all over the place.
And as Ogungbangbe and his MEDIA & PUBLICITY TRUST (mpt) doing a synopsis of the consultation, he affirmed, he’s not unaware, that is, fully aware of the engagingly robust party momentum, growing drive, force, and energy.
